Soft Loading Isolated Mode
The SLIM is a close transition soft loading device that parallels a single generator to a single utility power source.
The controls in the SLIM perform active synchronization of the generator output with the utility power and vice versa during the power transfer process. The SLIM is suitable for a single generator with a single utility application where a close transition transfer is allowed by the utility power company without an extended parallel time of the two power sources. The typical parallel time between the generator and the utility during power transfer is 10 seconds to 2 minutes (adjustable).
The SLIM is a good choice for customers who require reliable emergency backup capabilities and at the same time provide bumpless transfer back to the utility when utility power returns.
The SLIM can also be used by customers for peakshaving / load management applications without interrupting power to their critical loads during the peakshaving process. The transfer of power between sources is seamless.
