From The President — Welcome to our premier e-Newsletter issue bringing news on products, events, and projects to our valued customers.

The year 2002 has been very exciting for PSSI. During the first quarter of the year we completed the design for a new single utility/generator soft loading switchgear. Then on March 1st PSSI relocated its operations to a brand new office & manufacturing facility.

All of us at PSSI are dedicated to continuous improvement of our products and services in order to exceed your expectations. We bring you products that are of high value at competitive prices. We look forward to serving you during the remainder of 2002 and the years ahead.

New Office & Manufacturing Facility —Our new facility is located in an industrial park located in a northern suburb of Minneapolis/ St. Paul. We are located about 25 miles from the Twin cities airport and about 2 miles north from interstate 694 on highway 169. The new facility is designed and constructed to facilitate PSSI’s business growth over the next few years. New Web-EnabledGear™ — PSSI is proud to introduce its next generation utility/generator paralleling switchgear with soft loading Import/Export Controls. This product contains the new web-enabled PLC/server and a large 10.4 inch color Touchscreen.

The switchgear is designed to incorporate the latest PLC, operator interface and controls technology from Groupe Schneider (Modicon/Square D/Telemecanique). All the major internal components (PLC, servers, operator interface Touchscreen, power monitors) in the master control are interconnected using an Ethernet based local area network (LAN).

The PLC is also provided with a web server enabling authorized users to remotely monitor the system via the world wide web (www) by simply using MS Internet Explorer. The standard modem installed in the system also enables PSSI to remotely update and service the PLC and Touchscreen programs without having to actually travel to the customer site.

Woodward certifies PSSI on Generator Control & Engine Management Package

PSSI engineering staff has been trained and certified by Woodward on their new Engine Control & Engine Management module (EGCP-2). The EGCP-2 is a microprocessor based digital GenSet control that provides all engine and load management controls as well as paralleling functions all in one package. This controller is capable of paralleling up to 8 generators together and with the utility as-well-as single generator operation with the utility.
