Engineering, Design Philosophies and Services
Our technical staff, which includes electrical engineers, electrical CAD designers and technicians have years of experience working in the power systems and control related industries. All PSSI products are designed and engineered under one roof. Every project is custom designed to meet specific customer requirements.
At PSSI we design our products using the latest technologies in the switchgear control systems. We use PLCs that are manufactured by Allen-Bradley, Modicon or General Electric. All our designs are created using AutoCAD 2002, which enables us to create and share drawing files with customers and vendors, thereby expediting the drawing approval and material procurement processes.
All PSSI product designs meet and exceed applicable UL 508, UL 891 and UL 1558 requirements.
Project specific engineering documents are created for every product. After assembly, each product is thoroughly functionally tested at the factory to verify proper wiring and component functionality. Once tested each and every product is Quality Control (QC) certified. Test reports for each product are certified and forwarded along with the shipping documents.
Additionally, shipping documents also include revised/updated customer interconnect drawings and product installation drawings. Each product also includes product specific O&M manuals.
PSSI engineering/technical staff provide services for the start-up/commissioning of the power systems provided. We also provide contract engineering services as consultants to other companies or customers for the design of power systems. Please contact our sales staff for additional information.
Trained & Certified
PSSI engineering staff has been trained and certified by Woodward on their Engine Control & Engine Management module (EGCP-2).The EGCP-2 is a microprocessor based digital GenSet control that provides all engine and load management controls as well as paralleling functions all in one package. This controller is capable of paralleling up to 8 generators together and with the utility as-well-as single generator operation with the utility.
